Pozdrav ljudi,
otvaram ovu temu prvenstveno za sve one koji su pripadnici Nintendo generacije, naravno u raspravi mogu usdjelovat i klinci iz "hoću internet" te "fosili".
Svrha :
razmjena sjećanja, konstruktivna rasprava na temu NES igri, arkadnih igri, TMNT serije crtanih filmova.... općenito o vremenu kada su stvari bile mnogo jednostavnije.

Nintendo generacija (eng.)
The Nintendo Generation constitutes the same group of people who are old enough to remember the Soviet Union yet young enough to master the Internet: roughly, people between the ages of 25 and 37. They shared the excitement of laying the foundations for Internet technology and culture for subsequent generations, and the burden of bringing the new media paradigm to their elders. To those younger than 25, the Soviet Union is a page in their history books, and growing up without a computer in their homes is virtually unheard of nowadays. For many people older than 37, the computer is just a technological appliance of the modern day—something that their kids have to help them troubleshoot.
The Nintendo Generation witnessed the destruction of the Berlin Wall and stole Her hospital room TV when Nintendo ‘Eve’ gave birth to the electronic age. They bridge the gap between the old world of nations and the new world of ideas.
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) marked a defining moment, not only in popular technology, but in social climate. The NES was released in America in 1985 and its popularity waned in the early 1990’s with the advent of the Super NES and Sega Genesis. The NES wasn’t the first home video game system, but it was by far the first console that broke into the cultural mainstream with unprecedentedly whopping success. The NES made Super Mario Brothers, Zelda, and Megaman kitchen-table names.
The Nintendo Generation showed marked differences from their parents. Whereas their parents and grandparents may have watched TV, listened to radio, or read passively the Nintendo Generation had a new means of occupying their free time: the interactive electronic experience. Best of all, two controllers came with every NES console; it was designed to be an experience shared with family and friends.
In the mid 1990’s something magical was happening in the universe (aside from Mario’s mushrooms). At the same time that personal computers were on their way to become a household staple, Al Gore had succeeded in passing legislation that would allow for the creation of the Internet. But all of this might have been for naught if there hadn’t been an audience willing to grasp on, spend time being entertained through electronic means, and seek out information on the wild, untamed wilderness of the Internet. By the mid 1990’s interactive media had left the mainstay of basement computer nerds and had become popular enough to create the critical mass that started the Internet on its fierce growth curve.
Don’t get me wrong. The Internet was always going to succeed. Some ideas are too good not to win. But the phenomenal growth rate of the Internet’s acceptance is due largely to its reception by the populous. I know what some of you are thinking. And it’s true. The net’s growth was certainly helped by pornography. And there’s a social timeline for that, as well. Just as the arrival of the NES gripped the latent Nintendo Generation, those 6-14 year olds grew up to be 16-24 year olds (the perfect demographic for Internet pornography) just in time for the explosion of the Internet.
The Nintendo Generation was poised and ready to receive a momentous change, and they’ve done well as entrepreneurs of the Internet revolution. As the web continues to expand, the Nintendo Generation remains at the forefront of creating new concepts and content, and furthering the companies that we rely on everyday.
We’ve had to do a lot of heavy lifting. We’ve reached back to help our parents and neighbors that rely on us to catch them up with the mainstream current of technology. And we’ve laid one incredible foundation for the rush of new ideas that flow in daily, and will inevitably continue to do so with the help of younger generations.
