Seminarski rad iz engleskog

Evo ja sam iz engleskog jezika dobio napisati seminarski rad a ja sam odabrao temu OC. Evo sad, pošto nemogu attachat wordov doc ovdje, pa sam odlučio postati tekst. Interesira me jel dobro, jel tocno, itd... Evo:

Overclocking a processor

What is overclocking? It is a procedure of increasing your PCs performance by increasing your CPUs/RAMs/Southbridge’s/Northbridge’s/GPUs clock and multiplier (only CPU and RAM) and voltage. In this text I am gonna explain you how can you overclock your CPU and RAM. About others I will maybe explain you some other time.

Why would anyone want to overclock (OC) a processor? Because it increases computers performance. But it also increases CPU-s temperature, so it needs a better cooler. Not every motherboard is enabled for OC. So you need a motherboard that is enabled for OC. Heat also needs to get out of a computer, so you need at least 2 extra ventilator for case, and a case should be clean, and it should have a lot of extra room so the hot air could go out of the case. If you decide to OC you will also need more power because higher clocks of your processor take more power. So, you need also a better power supply. All this should be telling you that OC is an expensive, but not really. If you have an old PC just buy a new one. If u can’t afford yourself to buy components that are more expensive than ones that u would buy if you weren't planning to OC, don't even OC.

What should you know before you start OC or buying components?

1. If you are not careful, your CPU could start burning, and then it will be no good any more. You will also loose your warranty.

2. Your PC will be hot from inside, and when its summer or a hot day your PC might be overheated, so you will need to lower your CPU-s clock

3. There are differences between OC-ing an Intel and AMD processor, so check which companies product you have, and go to the correct paragraph

4. There is a cooler which you get with processor in its box. It’s not for OC. You will have to buy a better one. I recommend you Scythe Mugen 2, or Thermaltake 120 Extreme Black Edition, but for the second one I recommend you to buy at least 1 ventilator and install it onto the cooler

INTEL

I am assuming you already bought your components, so we can start overclocking. First thing you are gonna do is take a pencil and a piece of paper and create a table. It will have columns named by this order: CPU clock, CPU multiplier, vCore voltage, temperature, and Stability. In first one you will write value of your clock every time you increase it, in second one you will write CPU-s multiplier (it’s also RAM’s multiplier but we are overclocking our processors not RAM so its name will be CPU-s clock), in the third you will write the voltage of your processor, in the fourth you will write temperature of your processor, and in the last one you will put √ if it is stable, in other words if it doesn’t crash while running the benchmark. Good, now you can start your computer and download and install these programs: CPU-Z, this program will let you know what is the temperature of your processor, and besides that its clock and its multiplier, executive clock, etc…, and OCCT, this program will make your computer stressed, so you could know if your CPU is stable at that options.

So let’s go – first install these two programs. After this you are ready to start overclocking. Restart your computer, and run BIOS (Basic Input Output System) by pressing F” or DELETE or ESCAPE button while your PC boots, then search through options for options like Advanced CPU options, Advanced processor options, etc…, and open them. Now write in the table you drew before the current options. There is one more thing you should know before overclocking: it might happen that your PC doesn’t boot. Then you will have to plug a pin out and back in, do some setting up and plug it out and in again. That pin should be near the power cord jack on your motherboard. It’s quite small, so you will have to be careful when taking it out because you can’t get a new one without a new motherboard. Take it out but first remember its default position because there are 3 pins. If it’s like this: |1| |2| 3, then put it like this 1 |2| |3|, and if it was 1 |2| |3| then put it like this |1| |2| 3. It’s quite simple, but you will have to put it back in its default position later. So now when you did it start your computer and go to BIOS. There should be a special screen, which should have an option “Reset BIOS to default options”, do that, save and exit BIOS. Your computer should start restarting, and when it’s done you shut down your PC, and put the pin in its default position. Now when you go to BIOS again options should be default. Now you know what I had to explain before we started.

Now, if you have an extreme edition processor first you will go to memory options, and downclock it. Don’t touch the memories multiplier, because it will affect the CPU-s one, but make memories clock smaller, so let’s say if it’s default clock is 333 put it 200. Now you can go to your CPU-s options and raise multiplier of your processor for +2, or +3. Save and exit. If your PC boots and it should, then it’s ok. Go to BIOS ageing and increase multiplier for +2. Now save and exit, and boot your PC again. If it boots go to Windows and run CPU-Z, and after that run OCCT, and put it on 30 minutes, with the hardest options. Run benchmark. If it crashes it means it’s not stable, so you will have to go to BIOS again and raise vCore voltage, but not for like +8V, already for +0.025 or +0.05V. Now go to the Windows again and do the same thing. Now it should run stable till the test is over. Now go to your options, and check on your memories temperature. If it is goes over 55-60°C you will have start with increasing your processors bus.

The bus will increase your processors performance for much more then the multiplier, but it will also make your CPU become warmer. But there is one more thing you should know. There are 2 types of CPU buses – FSB and QPI. FSB is used with older processor generations, and has a bigger range for vCore voltage, and QPI is used in newer generations of processors, but has a smaller range for vCore voltage options, because processors using QPI are having intergrated memory controller which is very sensitive, so we will have to watch the vCore voltage very closely. If you’re having a FSB processor then you should have 1.6V the TOP maximum for the vCore voltage, otherwise it is 1.5V. That’s it. Now you go to BIOS again. You will be increasing your CPU-s clock by 25 till you get to let’s say 400MHz, then you should slow down, and keep on increasing by 15MHz. After every clock increase you will have to go to Windows and test its stability. If it is not stable then increase vCore voltage. If it doesn’t boot do the pin step and everything should be all right, but remember every time when you do it your overclock you did already will be deleted, so you will have to write the last stable options from table, but increase some vCore voltage. If it’s already over its maximum then don’t do that already go to clock options and decrease for 10MHz. Every time you increase your CPU’s clock or multiplier you will have to write into the table what you did. And that is it. You successfully overclocked your Intel CPU. Congratulations!

AMD

I f you are here I am assuming you already bought the components, so we can start. First thing you are gonna do is take a piece of paper and a pencil, and draw a table on the paper. Columns will be named this order: CPU clock, CPU multiplier, vCore voltage, Temperature and Stability. In first one you will write the FSB or HTT frequency, in the second one you will write your processors multiplier, in the third one you will write the voltage your processor is running on, in the fourth you will write the temperatures of your processor, that’s very important because if it goes too far your processor might blow up, and destroy couple of things, including motherboard or RAM, and that is not cheap, so watch out and be careful, and in the last column you will write √ if it is stable. To know its temperature you can look in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) and in the CPU-Z. To go to BIOS you have to press F2 or DELETE or ESCAPE while your PC boots. To know if it is stable you will have to download the OCCT. OCCT will make your system very stressed and if it crushes then it’s not stable, but if it doesn’t then you can keep on overclocking.

When you install these 2 programs you are ready. There is couple of things you should know before we start overclocking. First, if you have a Black Edition processor it means it has its multiplier unlocked, which is very good because it will be easier to overclock it. Multiplier doesn’t increase CPUs temperature, but it does need a lot of vCore voltage, which does increase temperature quite fast. FSB or HTT are CPUs buses, and when you increase their frequency they make your CPU quite warmer. But there is one more thing that could happen – your PC doesn’t boot. If it happens you will have to plug a pin out and back in, do some setting up and plug it out and in again. Your computer should start restarting, and when it’s done you shut down your PC, and put the pin in its default position. Now when you go to BIOS again options should be default. Now you know what I had to explain before we started. Good. Now we can go overclocking. First go to BIOS and find “Advanced CPU options” or something like that, its name is different on different motherboards. Write into the table you drew before the current options.

Now if you have BE processor first you will increase multiplier. After every increase try rebooting your system. When it doesn’t boot do the pin step, put the last options but increase vCore voltage. Increase vCore voltage carefully because it increases temperature very fast, increase it by +0.025 or by +0.05V and after every increase you will have to reboot your system, and after every second increasing you will have to go to windows, and do the stress test. Do the 30 minute test with the heaviest options in the test so you could be sure. If it crashes then your CPU is not stable, and you should increase its vCore voltage. If it doesn’t then its stable and you can keep on overclocking. When you pass multiplier 18 or 20 it’s enough, now you go to FSB/HTT. Increase it by 25 or 30MHz at the beginning , but when you pass let’s say 400MHz then slow down and start increasing it by 10 or 15 MHz. Every time you increase multiplier/clock/vCore voltage reboot your system and write down the change you did into the table you drew before, and after every second increasing do the stress test. When your temperatures go over 70°C in idle (that’s when you are not doing the test already just viewing the temperature) then it’s time to stop or get a better cooler. You have to watch out your vCore voltage so it wouldn’t go over 1.6V because then your CPU is getting damaged because of too high voltage, and even if its temperature isn’t too high it’s still dangerous. And that’s it. You successfully overclocked your CPU. Congratulations!

S takvom gramatikom i nekim rječima ćeš dobit asa!

Drugi paragraf:  Heat also needs to get out of a computer, so you need at least 2 extra ventilator for case, and a case should be clean, and it should have a lot of extra room so the hot air could go out of the case.

Heat should get out of the case,so you will need atleast two extra ventilators for it.Your case should be clean from inside and have some extra room to enable the aforementioned air flow.

Također sam primijetio da malo previše nabrajaš,odn. koristiš veznik and. Dakle:

Ne ovako:   Apples, and oranges nego ovako: Apples and oranges, and pepper, and banana,etc...
