Steam.exe (main exeption): ERROR:

Jutros sam odlučio preći na 64 bitni OS. Instalirao sam Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit koji star u trenutku pisanja 5 sati, doslovno. Pokušao sam instalirati Steam. Nakon što sam skinuo Intall Package (1.5 MB) Išao sam standardno (next, next...) međutim, kad se steam počne updateat izbaci mi:

Steam.exe (main exeption): ERROR: deleted steam.exe but the file is still there.

Pokušao sam više puta install, deinstall, očititi registry, sve to, ali bez rezultata.

Steam: nixnixnixnt XFire:nixnixnixnt

Da, naravno, sarkazam, ali svi ti linkovi sa googlea su ljubičast (već gledani), i ništa od tih rješenja nije meni radilo.

I had same problem and did this which solved it for me.

1. Remove any old versions of Steam.

2. Download the Steam client.

3. Run task manager or any other process viewer

4. Run the Steam.exe

5. You'll see Steam.exe listed in Process Viewer as a running process.

6. Watch it closely.

7. Soon, you'll see SteamTmp.exe launch. When you see this launch, immediately Kill the Steam.exe manually.

8. The SteamTmp.exe will close, and then continue running again as Steam.exe (a new Steam.exe not the one you killed in Step 8 above).

9. Continue updating as normal, and close Process Viewer.

10. Steam should finish updating as normal
